barbara,1st no need to remove rear wheel to put sring on.Remove rear brake arm from shaft, put sprng on arm with u-shaped end towards bottom and hooked on shaft towards front of bike this will put tension on shaft pushing to rear of bike ,only tools needed for this are 10 mm wrench and flat tipped screw driver to pry open slot you must fully remove bolt from arm as the shaft is grooved,it is very simple to do ,as for truck checkoil to see if water is present oil will be grey if water is present.change t-stat to 160 degree stat.have system pressure tested usually no cost /its a pump that goes on to radiator where the cap goes u pump it up and ck hose connections water pump ,bottom of pump has a bypass hole .that will leak if seal is bad but only under pressure,if youre doing any towing at all u should also install trans cooler approx $40 you can install yourself with simple tools .good luck hope every thing works out ok........Giro
